The British informational series Webwise was designed for those sorry souls who could not overcome their mortal terror of personal computers. On each episode, host Kate Humble traveled to a different region of the U.K., using her laptop and mobile phone to solve a variety of challenges. The message seemed to be that there was no problem that could not be resolved with the aid of the Internet, though to be frank, the problems posed on the series were not exactly earth-shattering. Webwise originally aired in 1999.
