Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Walt Disney picked up yet another Academy Award for his 1952 "True-Life Adventure" short Water Birds. This 31-minute nature study is narrated by Winston Hibler, who also wrote the script. Director Ben Sharpsteen's 16-person camera crew records the everyday activities of several bird species, notably the Man O' War bird, the Ganet and the Western Grebe. In time-honored Disney fashion, several sequences are set to classical music, a device that never failed to entertain half the audience and alienate the other half. Water Birds made its TV debut on the February 29, 1956 installment of the weekly Disneyland anthology.
