Synopsis by Kristi Coulter
Charismatic yoga teacher Seane Corn believes that "yoga without spirit is just calisthenics," and this intimate Vinyasa-based practice reflects that view perfectly. Corn leads viewers through an hour-plus series of postures linked by sun salutations and emphasizing standing poses, including some challenging standing twists, while offering frequent reminders that yoga is meant to link the mind, body, and soul together, not merely to be a good workout. The practice is slow-paced and Corn offers modifications for poses, but some familiarity with yoga is assumed. Fans of Corn's intense but compassionate style will find this unscripted session rewarding, particularly if they are looking for a more challenging physical experience than that presented on the excellent first volume of this series. For viewers who don't have time for the complete practice, the DVD offers a 40-minute shortened version that omits some introductory material and breathwork.
