Synopsis by Sally Barber

Van Gogh: A Museum for Vincent is a visually striking profile of the brilliant, but tormented Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh. One of the most popular painters of the past century, Van Gogh's work was unappreciated during his lifetime. However, his visual style and technique helped revolutionize modern art. While the artist spent most of his adult years poverty-stricken, more than 100 years after his death, his paintings would sell for millions of dollars. This documentary was filmed at locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, and features the world-renowned collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
