Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
A hard-partying Croatian accustomed to the easy life goes through a painful period of personal growth after discovering that he is H.I.V.- positive in writer/director Dalibor Matanic's bleak tale of absence and emptiness. Kreso (Kresimir Mikic) is an unrepentant hedonist whose days are filled with an endless stream of drinking, drugs, and sex. Despite achieving a respectable level of success as a high-profile advertising executive, Kreso is essentially a frightened boy trapped in a grown man's body -- continually bailed out by his father and emotionally distant to his live-in girlfriend. Upon learning that he has been infected with H.I.V., Kreso watches his outwardly glamorous life slowly stripped bare as his surroundings grow inconsequential
and his human connections rapidly deteriorate. With the loss of his job, this emotionally bankrupt party boy is forced to fend for himself, and to take his first painful steps toward his ultimate redemption.
