Staff Pick of the Day
Directed by Richard Linklater
When Christian McKay blusters onto a midtown Manhattan street as Orson Welles, it's hard to not gasp at the likeness. From the facial expressions to the posture to the voice, McKay takes the role beyond imitation and into resurrection. But the film isn't a Welles biopic, rather, director Richard Linklater uses Welles as the background against which to tell the tale of a young man, played by Zac Efron, who scores a role in his production of Julius Caesar, and has to do a lot of growing up, very quickly.
