A travel agent looks for love outside his marriage when his wife of ten years becomes oblivious to his changing mood. He meets a young widow with a six year old boy, and soon the two are engaged in a passionate love affair. The man soon becomes paranoid of the young boy as he flashes back to his own mother's affair and the jealousy he felt over her lover years ago. Soon he perceives all the boy's actions to be threatening, but his mother sees nothing wrong. His mind flashes back to scenes of his past psychological terror, he remembers killing his mother's suitor by cutting a rope holding the man on a high cliff. Tension builds as the young boy looks at him, picks up an axe and moves toward the terrified man.
