In this drama, a Yugoslavian who had spent many years working in America returns to the mountains in the 1920s. He made and lost a lot of money, but he and a friend had arranged for their children to wed many years ago, and the deal still holds. When his daughter falls in love with the man who saved his life from marauding wolves, he is not happy, but grudgingly accepts it -- until the long absent fiancé returns from his travels. The father drives his daughter's lover away so that the wedding can proceed.
