Synopsis by Hal Erickson
This Soviet oddity is a musical based on the recent wartime struggle between the Russians and the Nazis. Marina Ladynina and Eugene Samoilov play Varya Pankova and Lt. Kudrioshev, who despite the horrors and deprivations of war carry on an operetta-style romance. The two lovers promise to meet each other on a Moscow Bridge at Six O'Clock PM the moment peace is declared. Will they survive long enough for this romantic rendezvous? And what about Lt. Demidov (Ivan Lubeznov), Kudrioshev's rival for Marina's affections? American prints of Six PM were badly processed, making it difficult for US audiences to fully assess the film's value.
