Synopsis by Hal Erickson

For those who thought they knew everything about such historical events as the Salem Witch Trials, the siege of the Alamo, Custer's Last Stand and the final days of Adolf Hitler, the weekly cable series Unsolved History was quite an eye-opener. Using state-of-the-art investigative techniques, not least of which was the deployment of modern forensic science, the series demonstrated that the "facts" as written and/or universally accepted were sometimes misleading and often downright false. An impressive lineup of historians and archeologists served as narrators and on-camera participants. Hosted by Daniel A. Martinez, chief historian at the USS Arizona Memorial, Unsolved History premiered on October 9, 2002.
