Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This documentary concerns the World War II Nazi occupation of France. Both the resistance movement and the government collaboration are shown in wartime footage accompanied by narration. The Free Speech movement is covered and the emergence of their leader Charles De Gaulle is shown as the resistance movement gains momentum. This objective feature does not shy away from the fact that most of the French people were willing participants in the Nazi puppet government. The film will no doubt spark animated discussions among nationals, especially when their children ask their parents what they did during the war.
