Synopsis by Karla Baker

This video tells viewers what life in the Old West was really like as seen through the eyes of America's cowboys. Cowboys are generally thought of as America's old-time heroes, who lived a carefree life in the wide open plains. This video shows how that life was anything but peaceful or romantic. Cowboys endured Indian attacks, bad weather, and rattlesnakes, among other trials. They were paid very little for their services and often spent what they did make in outlaw towns on bar girls and shots of whiskey. This video is one in a series about the Old West.
