Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Two men are confronted with their own limitations when their respective projects fall far short of expectation in this meditation on the nature of progress. On September 11, 2011, novice stonemason Chris Overing set out to construct a 1000-foot dry-stone wall on his rural Quebec property. Meanwhile, filmmaker Bill Stone began documenting the project on camera. From the outset, Overing realizes that the ambitious project would have been better handled by a professional. And over the next few years, Stone rolls camera as the frustrated builder contends with a series of setbacks. Years later, the wall is less than two-thirds complete, and Stone makes the call to stop production. Over the course of the next eight years, both men wrestle with the malaise of realizing all of their hard work may have been for naught, and find their own self-images starting to suffer in the face of stagnation.
