Synopsis by Hal Erickson
In this 42nd episode of Travels in Europe With Rick Steves, the host offers the first of three half-hour forays into Scandinavia. The journey starts in the Danish metropolis of Copenhagen, described by Rick as Scandinavia's "most affordable and most fun-loving capitol." Renting a bike, Rick pedals past Town Hall Square (and its weather-forecasting "golden girls"), the Tivoli Gardens, and Amalienborg Palace, home of the present Queen of Denmark. Then it's a lively bike-and-ferry trip to Aero Island, with its many vestiges of the Viking days, including U-shaped farmhouses and windmills.
