This film is very much a collaborative work between William S. Burroughs and Anthony Balch. Balch himself was a great champion of the filmic pop and underground scene, later dabbling in the distribution and exhibition side of things. Along with a host of Beat luminaries, Balch and Burroughs construct a hallucinatory blend of "cut-ups" and disjointed narrative that depicts the destruction of the stock market -- via "found" newsreel footage of the 1929 stock market crash -- and the resultant spiral into chaos.
