Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
When a Greek who had been living in exile for 11 years in Sweden returns to Crete to rejoin his old flame and his friends, he is in for unpleasant surprises. His lover has married, his friends have abandoned their political ideals and are selling real estate, and there is no one and no place that is familiar or unchanged. In the end, the exile refuses to sell his own land to his enterprising friends and settles in with his own ideals intact. Lacking strong direction or in-depth character development, this story does not reach beyond a bland portrayal of the above-described events.
