Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This atrocious melodrama, with its pretentious Biblical title, was actually adapted from a novel by Leroy Scott. David Aldrich (Montagu Love) is a struggling young author who is in love with Helen Chambers (Gertrude McCoy), whose father (George DeCarlton) is a director at a mission. Aldrich's benefactor, Philip Morton (Reginald Carrington) is entrusted with some of the mission's funds, which he steals. He then commits suicide, and David, to save his friend's good name, takes responsibility for the crime. He is sent to prison and when he is released, finds it hard to keep a job and return to normal life. He takes in a young boy off the streets, but then becomes ill. To make ends meet, the boy steals a purse, which happens to belong to David's old flame, Helen. Eventually David's sacrifice to save Morton's name is discovered and he and Helen are reunited.
