Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This English-made film involves a young girl, Carmen Hale (Poppy Wyndham), who goes to live with her Aunt Eliza Peck (Annie Esmond). The aunt runs an inn in a Cornish village with a partner, Adam Brewster (Judd Green). A romance blooms between Carmen and Brewster's son, Matt (Sydney Seaward), until artist Gerald Knight (Pardoe Woodman) comes along. Carmen decides she prefers Knight and Matt is dismayed because he knows of the artist's bad character. Knight has Carmen pose for him on a rock with the sea in the background. When she hears the bell buoy ringing, signalling a tidal wave, it's too late for her to get away. Matt happens along and saves her. But she petulantly insists that he save Knight too. He does, but when Knight doesn't show his face, Carmen thinks he is dead. Finally Matt reveals that Knight admitted he was just leading her on. She realizes she should never have left Matt in the first place and agrees to marry him.
