This video features the use of current medical practices in conjunction with customary Tibetan medicine. Dr. Ama Lopsamg Dolma, Tibet's first woman medical practitioner, examines patients, demonstrates the choice and administration of accepted substances, such as herbal remedies, and the use of acupuncture to help the patients with self healing. Filmed in the Indian Himalayas at the Tibetan Medical Center this video also relates how environmental effects are appearing in the people of Tibet, causing the dilemma of which is the correct form of medicine to use, modern or traditional.
