Synopsis by Mark Deming

A boy has trouble navigating the murky waters of breaking off a relationship in this short, bittersweet coming of age story from filmmaker Chris Teague. Todd is a shy, socially clumsy boy in his early teens who has fallen in love with a girl. While she returns his affections, he discovers her family will soon be moving away, and before long he'll never see her again. While Todd makes big plans for her last day in town, they don't go as he planned, and instead he and his girlfriend have a quarrel. Not wanting to end their short-lived romance on a sour note, Todd enlists his friends to help him with a stunt he hopes will impress his girl, though the guys are less than enthusiastic about his scheme and in time Todd realizes what he should have done all along. Inspired by an incident from Teague's own youth, Thorndike was screened in competition as part of the short film series at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.
