Synopsis by Tom Ciampoli
Based on the novel Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt by Anne Rice, The Young Messiah is a biblical drama that imagines the life of Jesus at age seven. As his family travel from Egypt to Nazareth, the young Jesus (Adam Greaves-Neal) wishes to learn more about his identity and place in the world. Meanwhile, Herod Antipas (Jonathan Bailey) dispatches a Roman centurion (Sean Bean) to hunt down and kill the boy, whose miraculous powers might be a threat to his reign. Sara Lazzaro and Vincent Walsh also star in this film from director Cyrus Nowrasteh.
