Synopsis by Mark Deming

A handsome stranger brings some unexpected changes to one woman in a small town in this drama from Argentina. A nameless man (Alejandro Barratelli) drifts into a tiny village in Entre Rios, a dusty farming community. He stops for a drink at the local watering hole, "El Amarillo," owned by a stern older woman named Myrtha (Myrtha Frattini). At the bar, the man meets Amanda (Gabriela Moyano), a waitress who moonlights as a singer at the saloon, belting out passionate ballads for the local clientele. The man is clearly taken with Amanda's talent, and she's attracted to him, finding the sort of passion with him that previously she could only reach through her music. The first feature film from director Sergio Mazza, El Amarillo (aka The Yellow) was screened as part of the 2006 Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival.
