Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Filmed on location in the wilds of British Columbia, this cable-TV reality series pitted a dozen intrepid adventurers, male and female, against themselves and Mother Nature for a 100,000-dollar prize. Divided into two six-member teams, the contestants, each of whom had a highly specialized survival skill, were required to brave the natural perils of their environments armed with nothing more than the tools they started with at the beginning of their cross-province journey. Unlike other shows of the Survivor ilk, the contestants faced no man-made obstacles; everything was hair-raisingly real. The Wild Rules premiered September 8, 2003.
