Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This Universal jewel featured some impressive credentials -- its star was Edward Everett Horton (taking one of his occasional breaks from the stage to act in silents) and the screenwriters were the famed husband and wife team Anita Loos and John Emerson. Chester Binney (Horton) returns from the World War believing that he has a silver plate in his head and must avoid excitement. Since he is in line to inherit a fortune, his boss, Simmons (Otis Harlan), wants him to marry his daughter Ethel (Virginia Lee Corbin). Ethel, however, is less than enthused by her father's choice -- Binney is just too retiring and dull for her tastes. To get Ethel interested, Simmons makes up a yarn about him being madly in love with vampy actress Rita Renault (Dolores Del Rio, in one of her first film roles). Unfortunately, Rita also has a jealous husband, Jack Shields (Malcolm Waite), and Binney's life gets a lot more exciting than he would have preferred. Eventually things get straightened out, and Ethel decides that Binney is all right by her.
