Synopsis by Mark Deming

One of the best and best-loved rock bands to ever come out of Ireland, the Undertones married the brash urgency of punk with the melodic hooks of '60s pop and created a string of hit songs in the process; the BBC's most powerful disc jockey, John Peel, more than once cited their debut single "Teenage Kicks" as his favorite song ever. The Undertones: Teenage Kicks is a documentary which offers an inside look at the band's history, from their formation in the Northern Ireland community of Derry to their reunion in 2003. Included are rare promo films for the songs "Teenage Kicks," "My Perfect Cousin," "There Goes Norman," "It's Going to Happen," "Wednesday Week," and more.
