Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Mirroring the psychological principles that belie innumerable foreign language courses, The Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus Tutor: 5-Hour Video Course begins with the assumption that the easiest way to absorb the foundational axioms and logic of trig and pre-calc is via full, unbridled immersion into each. The student who needs adequate mathematical preparation before entering courses in trig and pre-calc will find this program ideal. A professor appears onscreen, introducing the basic ideas and methods for completing pre-calc equations (in the first half) and trig (in the second half), and engages in numerous onscreen examples following each new idea. The instructor carefully narrates and illustrates each step of problem-solving so that at-home viewers can follow along and absorb the necessary logic. Covered in the pre-calc section of the program are: complex numbers, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, solving exponential and logarithmic equations, and angles. The trigonometric half of the program covers: finding trig functions using triangles, finding trig functions using the unit circle, graphing trig functions, and trig identities.
