Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Tibetan filmmakers Tenzing Sonam and Ritu Sarin reflect on the tense relationship between their homeland and China, the superpower that has occupied Tibet since 1959. Following the Dalai Lama over the course of an entire year, Sonam and Sarin capture affecting footage of the March 2008 protests that were quickly stifled by China, and highlight the actions that Tibetans are taking to reclaim their nation's independence.
