Vitagraph brought this old Drury Lane melodrama (originally penned by August Harris, Cecil Raleigh, and Henry Hamilton) to the screen. Muriel (Alice Joyce), the Duchess of Desborough has run afoul of Major Roland Mostyn (Gustav von Seyffertitz), a gambler. Because of his machinations, Muriel and her husband, the Duke (Percy Marmont), become separated and their thoroughbred, Clipton, is sold. But even though the Duchess is disgraced, she manages to buy back the horse, get him in the Derby, and win back everything she has lost.
