Synopsis by Mark Deming

Three girls on the edge of adolescence find themselves dealing with the emotional consequences of growing up in this made-for-TV movie, adapted from the book for young people by Bonnie Bryant. Carole (Keenan Macwilliam), Stevie (Sophie Bennett), and Lisa (Lara Jean Marshall) are a trio of 12-year-olds who love horses and have a talent for riding. They spend most of their spare time at the Pine Hollow Stables, where they train with their coach for an upcoming horse show, but the pressures of competition begin to wear on them, as well as their new interest in boys. However, the three friends learn they can always count on each other when the going gets rough. The Saddle Club: Adventures at Pine Hollow was the pilot film for the subsequent Saddle Club television series.
