Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Adam Ciralsky and Shawn Efran's docuemtnary The Project traces the history and actions of the Puntland Maritime Police Force, an organization created in Somalia to help fight pirates whose hijackings have continually damaged that country's well-being. Because of international regulations, the country has been banned from having a standing military, so they must get help in order to form a fighting force capable of stopping pirates. The filmmakers show how the organization has unexpectedly found success after a very shaky start.
