Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The silent film vehicles of stuntman Richard Talmadge were usually put together in sloppy haste, but The Poor Millionaire is a welcome exception. Talmadge plays the dual role of a prison inmate and his virtuous brother. When the latter falls heir to a fortune, the crooked brother shows up to claim the dough. For the rest of the picture, Talmadge literally chases himself, barely pausing for breath or logic. Caught in the middle is ingenue Constance Howard, who as an actress is very pretty. Filmed in 1929, Poor Millionaire was still making the grind-house rounds well into 1930.
