As chapter nine of Phantom of the West reveals, it wasn't The Phantom who attempted to abduct Mona Cortez (Dorothy Gulliver) but Ruby Blair (Hailee Sullivan, desperately trying to protect her father (William Desmond). While both Royce Macklin (Philo McCullough) and Martin Blair (William Desmond) feign innocence in the murder of Jim Lester's (Tom Tyler) father, Mona is in trouble with Bud Landers (Thomas Santschi), whom she has come to believe is the Phantom. She is saved in the nick of time by Jim but will he also be able to rescue her from the real Phantom?
