Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Filmmaker Catherine Herbert takes an unflinching look at how the lives of everyday Ugandans have been shaped by two decades of unceasing war in this documentary that originally screened as part of the 2007 Edinburgh Film Festival. From the girl who walks six miles each night to sleep in a shelter that provides safety from the rebels who abduct children and force them to fight, to the mother who became an activist after her daughter was taken along with over 100 of her classmates, this sobering look at conflict that continues to rage on due to the apparent complicity of the government - which seems completely uninterested in curbing the bloodshed - offers a poetic look at the Ugandan people's will to survive under even the harshest of circumstances.
