Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Written and directed by Henry McCarthy, this water-logged silent melodrama from poverty row company Gotham sunk soon after it's February 1925 release. The mother of all silent-screen mothers, Mary Carr), was top-billed but succumbed early on in the proceedings, a victim of evil sea captain Jed Hobbs (Tom Santschi). Mother Carr's son, Bob (Robert Gordon), takes up the fight against Hobbs, proving that the supposed pillar of society is smuggling guns and ammunition into Central America. During the final confrontation, Hobbs drops a lit match into the cargo but is himself killed in the ensuing explosion. Having avenged his mother's death, Bob is free to marry sweetheart Elizabeth (Margaret Fielding).
