Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Native American tradition clashes with the fast pace of 20th Century society in this filmed performance of playwright Lanford Wilson's Obie Award-winning 1975 play. Staged near the well-known Coster archeological site in southern Illinois and starring Brad Dourif, The Mound Builders portrays the lyrical conflict between a dedicated team of archeologists and the group of local residents who are determined not to see their land desecrated in the name of research.
