Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
This somewhat propagandistic film follows along with the prescribed, politically correct themes advocated in the movies out of Communist China. The Mongolian studios tend to stay with stories about Socialist society or the liberation of women and this drama is no exception. Unfortunately, director Zhamyangiin Buntar keeps the evolution of this story about a collective farm creeping along at a turtle's pace. Watching the film is not quite as bad as watching the grass grow, but for Western audiences used to fast-paced, hard-hitting drama this tale is going to be quite relaxing.
