Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The forty-ish Leah Baird was getting a bit too old to play ingenues, but she was still writing that type of role for herself. In this romantic melodrama, she is Doris Mansfield, the daughter of Captain Joe Mansfield (George Nichols). Doris is engaged to Fred Norton of the government air service patrol (George Walsh). She gets mixed up with Bill Bruce, a cruel smuggler of illegal immigrants (Mitchell Lewis). Bruce forces her to marry him. Mansfield rescues his daughter and makes sure that Bruce is shipped off to jail. Doris keeps the truth about her marriage from Norton and everyone else, even when she has a baby. Eventually Bruce gets out of prison and clears Doris' name. He dies when he falls down a well and breaks his back, freeing Doris to reunite with Norton.
