Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Boarding a packed elevator, Mary (Mary Tyler Moore) has a chance encounter with her former boyfriend, Dan Whitfield (Michael Tolan, in his second series appearance). It soon becomes obvious that Dan would like to start up with Mary where he left off. There's only one small technicality: Dan is en route to his own engagement party, with his fiancée in tow. Future WKRP in Cincinnati regular Gordon Jump appears as an elevator passenger. "The Courtship of Mary's Father's Daughter" first aired on December 23, 1972.
