Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Mary Tyler Moore Show opened its second season by gingerly dealing with the topic of S-E-X. An embarrassed but determined Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore) is assigned to assemble a TV documentary titled "What's Your Sexual IQ." The show is a success, prompting Mary's landlady Phyllis Lindstrom (Cloris Leachman) to draft her for the delicate task of explaining the facts of life to Phyllis' 12-year-old daughter, Bess (Lisa Gerritsen). "The Birds and...Um...Bees" was originally telecast on September 18, 1971.
