Joseph Campanella guest stars as Mary's former sweetheart, Tom Vernon. Paying a visit to Minneapolis, Tom is eager to rekindle the flames of romance. But Mary has been burned by this guy once too often, and doesn't want to even warm her hands this time around -- or does she? "Remembrance of Things Past" caused a minor stir when it originally aired on February 17, 1973, thanks to a fadeout line which not-so-subtly intimates that Tom and Mary plan to spend the night together.
