Former That Girl costar Ted Bessell appears as Joe Warner, the new man in the life of lovelorn Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore). Joe's elaborate displays of public affection are a source of both delight and embarrassment for Mary. But the heroine's friends cannot help but notice that Joe never says anything about "Love" -- and soon Mary notices his avoidance of the L-word as well.
