Swept up in the emotions surrounding the 20th wedding anniversary of Murray and Marie Slaughter (Gavin MacLeod and Joyce Bulifant), anchorman Ted Baxter (Ted Knight) impulsively proposes to his erstwhile girlfriend Georgette (Georgia Engel). The newsroom is thrilled by Ted's decision, and so, apparently, is Georgette. The only one not thrilled is Ted himself, who subtly drops a hint as to his actual frame of mind by blubbering, "I don't wanna get married!!" "Marriage: Minneapolis-Style was first telecast on February 1, 1975.
