Synopsis
Filmmaker Ann Marie Fleming undertakes a labor of love in this enchanting profile of her great-grandfather, a 1920s vaudevillian magician who lived through cultural upheaval in China and experienced discrimination when he traveled overseas. Fleming uses archival footage, comic-book animation and Monty Pythonesque manipulated illustrations to tell the tale.
