Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Philip Madoc starred as the title character in this nine-part dramatization of the life and career of celebrated Welsh politician David Lloyd George. Though well cast and superbly directed, the series was relatively normal by British TV standards in every respect but one: The musical score was penned not by one of the many usual BBC functionaries, but instead by Italian composer Ennio Morricone, best known for his work in such spaghetti Westerns as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The Life and Times of David Lloyd George originally aired in England in 1981.
