Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Capitalizing on the success of Jackie Chan's box-office smash Crime Story which detailed the notorious real-life kidnapping of the scion of a powerful millionaire, this film -- directed by Ko Sin-ming -- presents another more baroque version of the crime. Chung (Kent Cheng Chuk-see) is a veteran detective who saves tight-fisted millionaire Wong Chat-fai (Paul Chun Pui) from being abducted by a band of Taiwanese thugs. Hoping to parlay this, he asks Wong to go into a business partnership with his son Ming who is just starting to enter the business world. Wong gives the lad a bum deal and soon Ming is penniless, the target of angry loan sharks looking to collect, and on the brink of suicide. When Wong refuses to make the situation right, Chung decides to take matters into his own hands.
