Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Alvin Childress, who starred as Amos in the vintage TV series Amos 'N' Andy, is cast as Herbert Russell, the elderly new boyfriend of Mother Jefferson (Zara Cully). Louise is delighted by the news that her overbearing mother-in-law intends to wed Herbert and move to Florida. But George (Sherman Hemsley), convinced that Herbert is only after his mom's money, intends to put a stop to all this mushy nonsense. "Mother Jefferson's Boyfriend" was first broadcast on March 8, 1975.
