Synopsis

The Iranian-American experience is examined. As with other peoples, Iranians sometimes immigrated to the U.S., often for educational reasons, prior to 1979. But when Ayatollah Khomeini rose to power that year, tens of thousands fled Iran, with many of the expatriates settling in America. The documentary features remarks from Iranian-Americans, including actor-comedian Maz Jobrani; former Beverly Hills, Cal., mayor Jamshid "Jimmy" Delshad; and former assistant secretary of state Goli Ameri.
