Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Elsie Janis not only starred in this mystery film, she also co-wrote the screenplay along with Edmund Goulding. Although Jane Morgan (Janis) comes from a wealthy family, she has a fascination with crime and criminals. One of her prized possessions is a purse that once belonged to Annie Adams, aka "the Imp," a notorious pickpocket. When Jane is accidentally knocked unconscious with a golf club, she awakens believing that she is the Imp. She tries robbing a bank and only the influence of her father (E.J. Ratcliffe) keeps her out of prison. The Morgans call in a specialist, Dr. Gregory (Joe King), who allows Jane a lot of freedom. As a result she joins a gang of crooks led by the Leopard. She falls in love with the Leopard and during a big heist, he kills a butler (Arthur Marion). The gang is arrested, and Jane tries to save the Leopard by claiming she is the killer. It turns out that the Leopard is actually Dr. Gregory and the gun he was using contained blanks. It was all a ruse to bring Jane to her senses -- which it does.
