One of the most acclaimed violinists of the 20th Century, Jascha Heifetz took the opportunity to share his remarkable abilities with a group of gifted music students at the University of Southern California in the early 1960's. A camera crew filmed Heifetz's sessions with his pupils, and The Heifetz Master Classes, Part 1 offers both practical advice on the finer points of approaching the violin, and a fascinating insight into Heifetz as he interacts with the students, by turns offering enthusiastic encouragement and sharp criticism.
