Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The faintly irreverent title God in the Garden was affixed to this British comedy. The "God" in this instance is not the Supreme Being; instead, it is that little diapered sprite named Cupid. A spinsterish woman (Edith Craig) manages to corral Cupid in her garden, whereupon everyone who visits her is struck by the imp's arrows. The woman herself finds happiness in the arms of a local curate (Arthur Pusey). It is hard to assess the quality of God in the Garden, since the film seems to have vanished. Director Edwin Collins adapted the screenplay from a novel by Keble Howard.
